The paired bar charts revealed online ticket purchasing behavior for concerts, cinemas, and theatres by age group in three countries, along with internet access methods in the initial quarter of 2013. Overall, younger groups demonstrated substantially higher e-ticket uptake than older demographics, while desktop computers remained the primary manner across all markets.
Focusing on age-based engagement, higher online participation was recorded in the UK and Australia compared to Malaysia. In these two countries, a 15–20% difference is considered significant, especially when comparing across two age categories. In contrast, a reversed trend was observed in the leftover, where older Malaysians, likely more active, outpaced younger groups in online purchases.
Turning to ticket channels, desktops were the most commonly used device, accounting for nearly half of all transactions in each country, while mobile phones were the least preferred. A parallel upward trend was noted for both devices, with proportions rising in Australia, the UK, and Malaysia, respectively. Laptop usage, however, showed a different distribution when Australians and Malaysians had nearly identical figures, both significantly higher than the UK by over one-fifth.
