The bar chart illustrates the amount of fuel consumed in the transport sector in six countries in Europe, compared to the EU average, in 2009 and 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that Slovakia used highest amount of fuel compared to other countries and also higher than the EU average. Additionally, the usage of fuel was the same for Australia in both years, while Greece was the lowest consumption of fuel in transportation.
In 2009, Slovakia consumed nearly 9% of fuel which was higher than the average usage of EU. Australia followed with just above 5% used of fuel in transportation, which was about 14% higher than Italy. The consumption of fuel was nearly the same for France and Spain, at 3.7% and 3.8% respectively. Greece had the lowest fuel used, just above 1%.
In 2010, the figure fall for Slovakia and Spain at 6.5% and 3% respectively. Italy, France and Greece increased after 1 year at 5.1%, 4.3% and 2%. The use of fuel was still the same for Australia.
The average percentage of fuel used for EU average was decreased slightly and reached 5%.
