The three maps illustrate the significant transformations that have happened in Meadowside Village and Fonton, which is a nearby town, from 1962 to the present (in 1962, 1985, and the present).
Overall, it is evident from these three maps that considerable development has taken place over the review years. Meadowside village, a completely different neighbouring area in 1962 and 1985 that was located to the west of Fonton, has now become a suburb of the same town.
Initially in 1962, Meadowside village was linked with Fonton neither through road nor railway; however, there existed a railroad to the west of Fonton.
By 1985, we can see that considerable development activities had taken place. For instance, Meadow Side Village grew in size with a housing estate, a leisure complex and a superstore also built during that time. At this time, Fonton and Meadowside village became connected through road transportation.
At present, the village has become a suburb of Fonton with the addition of a railway station between Meadowside and Fonton. To the north of the station, a hotel has been constructed. Similarly, to the south of the station on the other side of the road a business park has been built.
