Overall, there was an upward trend for Samsung and Apple, outnumbering others manufactures which numbers declined during the surveyed period. However, Nokia’s and Erisson’s figures for selling mobile phones rose by the year of 2008 and 2007 respectively.
In general, Samsung’s numbers significantly climbed from 117 millions to 396.5 millions, being the dominant company in retailing mobile phones by the end of period. Although Apple commenced production their phones in 2007 and was a minor part among corporations during first three years; likely, there was a increase by 133.5 millions.
Conversely, other companies showed falls throughout the period. Even though Nokia’s figures remained the higher than those of any other corporation for most of the period, there was a moderate decline after peak in 2008 at 475 millions. Similarly, Ericsson had the common pattern, reaching its highest point in 2008 with 107 millions phones and significantly dropping to 28 millions. Only numbers of Motorola’s sold phones had a consistent decrease from 210 millions to 28 millions.
