Critics argue that governments should increase their expenditure on various sectors, rather than on exploring space and the solar system. I emphatically agree with this notion because astronomical sciences can be very expensive, and this money could be used to foster the country’s educational and healthcare systems. Additionally, space studies are still of very little significance.

The billions of dollars spent on space exploration each year should be reinvested in well-established healthcare and education institutions. Many governments neglect those two sectors in favor of investing more funds in their quest for innovative space exploration efforts. Improving hospitals and educational institutions would directly benefit the population. For instance, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the United States of America’s aerospace agency spends over 20 billion dollars annually on their efforts to explore signs of life in space. This amount of money is enough to flourish the educational and health sectors in the country.

Moreover, space exploration trials have been ongoing for over a decade now, and no significant discoveries have been made to date. Over the past 100 years, thousands of rockets have flown to outer space, and the only useful finding was that of a new planet, but signs of life or hopes of humans being able to live outside Earth are yet to be found. Neil Armstrong, a famous American astronaut, said that analysis of what they find in space can take years or even decades to be realized and applied in a way that benefits society. Therefore, it is completely useless, and its money could be used elsewhere.

In conclusion, I fully agree that governments should increase their expenditure on creating better healthcare and educational facilities rather than spending hefty amounts on space exploration.
