There has existed endless controversy over novel supply for energy. Geologists hold the strong belief that exploiting new sources of energy in distant areas may have serious impacts on the natural environment. The purpose of my writing is to critically demonstrate the major benefits and drawbacks of such a scheme as well as explain why the merits prevailed over the demerits.
To begin with, there are certain drawbacks of this plan. First and foremost, what I put in my priority is the impact on the environment. It is necessary to dig up and get new resources from underground, which may disrupt animals’ habitats. More notably, the process is able to contaminate the underground water, allowing toxins to seep into and resulting in the serious impacts on local citizens’ health. However, geologists are able to implement several solutions, such as relocating animals to ensure their live ability as well as inviting experts to assess the situation before exploiting.
On another note, finding novel supply for energy in remote areas offers several benefits that are worth considering. Firstly, what convinces me is job opportunities. It is obvious that in order to carry out this plan, it is crucial to have a large workforce. Therefore, local residents who may previously live under the poverty line due to their remoteness, stand a golden chance to get employment opportunities. Additionally, the decrease in energy prices ranks at the equal place in essence. The fact is that thanks to the additional energy resources, the larger amount of supplies, the more significant downturn in fuel prices.
To sum up, I acknowledge that this scheme has both merits and demerits. Nevertheless, on balance, I hold the belief that the advantages overshadow the disadvantages. Job opportunities and lower energy prices are convincing reasons for my statement. I highly recommend that geologists should take my writing into account to adopt suitable decisions on exploiting new sources of energy in distant areas.
