Some people are convinced that more money should be spent by the government on education for illiterate adults. I completely agree with this viewpoint.
To begin with, spending more of the budget on mature adults who cannot read and write could bring positive effects for the community because people who have limited reading and writing ability have more opportunities to improve their prospects. For example, many blue-collar workers become unemployed because they lack literacy ability in the process of their work. Hence, homelessness and crime could appear more frequently in society.
In addition to this, people could have more opportunities to approach fundamental education and increase their work rate. For instance, many companies that always request manual labor require reading and writing ability, so they could enhance their knowledge through government budgets. Thus, this is a solution for lack of employment problems in society.
In conclusion, I would argue that government funds should support illiterate adults in society because it brings benefits for themselves and for communities
