Technology is flourishing by leaps and bounds, providing us with new avenues while keeping us updated with the latest news and current affairs. Therefore, a fair number of people believe that the conventional way of newspaper reading will disappear. However, I do not completely agree with this, as a conventional newspaper is the easiest and cheapest way to get news.
There are multiple reasons why the traditional ways of getting news are still popular. First of all, reading the newspaper has become an ardent habit for many people. Whether from the affluent or middle class, everyone is seen eagerly waiting for the newspaper in the morning and enjoying reading it with a cup of tea. Moreover, newspapers are the most portable, cheapest, and easiest ways of knowing about global activities. They can be carried from one place to another in a bag and are available at an economical price. They are so handy that merely continuing to flip the pages can make you feel omniscient. Secondly, newspapers do not require electricity or other appliances. Furthermore, the additional attachments, such as women’s fashion, career guides, and culinary art in the Hindustan Times, are like icing on the cake.
However, undoubtedly, technology has given a radical approach to reading news, for example, videos provide a full and clear view of events. Besides that, we can download, share, and forward news articles to our relatives and friends. Needless to say, technophobia will have no place in this ever-advancing modern world.
In conclusion, while the lives of people are drastically affected by advanced versions of technology, in my opinion, it will not be able to pose a threat to the existence of traditional newspapers and magazines.
