The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of energy used in the USA between the 1980s and the 1990s.
Overall, it is clear that there was an increase in the proportion of energy from coal and nuclear power while the opposite was true for oil. However, the figures for natural gas and hydroelectric power remained more or less unchanged, with oil being the largest share over the period.
Oil in the 1980s was presented 42% out of whole energy level in the USA, but this was followed by a decrease to 33% in the 1990s. Meanwhile, The proportion of natural gas was 26% but declined dramatically, reaching at 25% in decade. Similarly, use of Coal was increased noticeably, reaching 27% in the 1990s.
Additionally, Nuclear Power starting at 5% use of such power, increased to 10% in between the 1980s and the 1990s. However, the usage of Hydroelectric Power started at 5% at first, and without changes kept the proportion until the 1990s.
