I firmly believe that the government should impose a law that proscribes the sale and use of hard drugs, including tobacco and alcohol. In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the consumption of these products, especially by young people aged 17 to 30.
Drug addiction exerts a profound negative impact, especially on the families of the individuals who fall prey to it. They become abusive and throw tantrums at home. They become hard to handle because of this addiction. Overuse of drugs has a profound impact on health. It can lead to mental health disorders. It hampers their physical and mental wellbeing. One reason why I believe they should forbid the use of these products is that it can diminish addiction rates. If they impose a law, it will hinder the ability of drug addicts to procure these substances, and this will help to overcome their addiction. Recently, there was a case involving a 15-year-old boy who was addicted to drugs. This boy used to purchase drugs using the pocket money his parents used to give him. When the parents discovered his addiction, they ceased giving him money, and he could not buy drugs. This led him to overcome his addiction.
Drug addiction poses significant threats to society. For instance, a report from the police suggested that there are drug dealers who sell drugs near school areas. Their main target group is school students. Limiting drug availability may impact society positively. By making drugs harder to get through strict laws, we can break up these illegal operations and lower crime rates.
The government can mitigate their harmful effects by forbidding access to these substances and foster a healthier society. It is a necessary step towards reducing addiction rates and safeguarding the community.
