The table depicts the average age of retirement of, both genders, in six different nations in 2003. Overall, the averange of Korea in both genders was the highest. Additionally, men retired at a later age than female in all given nations.
Regarding men, the average age of retirement in Korea ranked first at 68 years and 8 months, followed by the figures for Japan and Italy were at the same age with 67 years and 4 months. In addition, the retirement age of the United States, Australia and France were over 65, 65 and 57, respectively.
Concerning women, the highest average retirement age was also witnessed in Korea at 67 years and 2 months, which was three years older than that of the United States. Furthermore, at 63 years and 5 months, Australia residents entered their pension phase, whereas the opposite true for that of France at roughly under 57 years old. Lastly, the data for Jappan and Italy were relatively comparable at around 67 years old.
