Overall, China reached the peak in 2004 but was surpassed by the USA in 2008. Japan, USA, Russia upward trend and soly China downward trend. Russia and Japan reached a low position.
In particular, the number of people studying abroad in China and the USA is symmetrical in the number of students. The figures for the USA and China were equal in 2006 and also showed China’s stability in the following year. The proportion of American international applicants doubled in China in 2008.
The numbers of people in Japan and Russia, which are at the lowest, both showed a slight increase. Looking at 2005, the proportion of Japanese people is triple that of Russia, which country stood at its lowest level in 5 years.
