Overall, Yemen is majorly populated with the young generation, both in 2000 and in the forecast; on the other hand, Italy is more populated with people of older age brackets.
About half of the population in Yemen were the people of the youngest age group in 2000, which dropped to 37% in the forecast of 2050. The proportion of people aged 15-59 years was 46.3% in 2000, and according to the forecast, it will increase by 11% in 2050. Lastly, the highest age bracket held the lowest position in the population hierarchy; that was 3.6% in 2000 and will be 5.7% in the estimation of 2050.
Moving on to Italy, around 14%, 61%, and 24% of the population was in the age groups of 0-14, 15-59, and above 60 years in 2000, respectively, where the 15-59 group was the dominant age group. However, according to the projections, the lowest age group and the 15-59 age group will experience decline in 2050, and the proportions will be 11.5% in the lowest age brackets and 46.2% in the 15-59 age group. Besides, the age bracket of people over 60 years old will account for approximately 42% in 2050, by the estimations.
