The two maps illustrate how the layout of pre-school has changed between 2010 and the present day.
Overall, the classroom has seen major changes, including the relocation of seating to the west, the replacement of the teacher’s space, and the expansion of shelves, while certain play zones and cupboards have remained.
As can be clearly seen from the 2010 classroom maps, there were 3 tables and chairs located in the centre, followed by 3 play areas in the 3 corners northwest, northeast and southwest of the class. Additionally, on the western side of the room included teacher’s space, which is situated immediately adjacent to the windows. Turning to the opposite field, there are some cupboards such as white board, art area and the sink for both adult and child on the extreme east side of the room.
Regarding today’s classroom, the most notable change is the replacement of the teacher’s area and play area in the west and southwest of the class to make room for the movement of the tables and chairs. Moreover, the shelves have undergone expansion both in size and number for the specific functions. Noticeably, there are some cupboards and play zones have been remained for their original purpose.
