The bar chart illustrates some different types of transports used by people in Europe between 1996 and 2006, respectively lorries, buses, motorcycles, private cars and other types.
Overall, the number of private car users outweighs all the remaining types of vehicles throughout the time and saw a significant rise. Others fluctuated but insignificant in general.
Private cars always stay at the top point with 19 million users in 1996 then increased to 24 million in 2006, 10 times higher than all the other types of transports.
On the other hand, buses were the lowest vehicles used by people, which only had 0,1 millions from 1996 to 2006, while lorries, the second lowest transport, a little bit higher with half of millions in this period of time. Motorcycles witnessed a slight decrease to 0.6 million after reaching 1 million in 1996, in contrast, other types increased to 1,9 million, which was the second highest vehicles, but only one out of ten compared to private cars.
