Band 4+: In many countries around the world, rural people are moving to cities, so the population in the countryside is decreasing. Do you think this is a positive or a negative development?

Rural people are usually surviving by farming and animal husbandry and if all people in the rural areas move to the cities, people are likely to have some trouble about getting enough food in the future. Even though companies can provide food sources in the factories we can assume it is not going to be as healthy since they will only care about making profits and use chemicals on their products which is happening nowadays.

But aside from food sources more people in cities means more workpower but if there aren’t enough jobs it is very possible that it might create an army of jobless people and considering todays metropolls and cities it really is an issue we are having.

Also it is quite possible that if people in rural areas move to the cities we might have a culturel fight since rural and urban areas has very different cultures and getting different types of education. And most of the time people who live in rural areas tend to get less and worse education with low resources than people in urban areas because of the both transportation difficulties and budgets in the rural areas so it is quite possible that crime rates in cities might rise up and cause problems.

So overall thinking even though people who move to cities might provide workpower there are way more negative sides about this if we examine the problems we have today so in my opinion we can clearly say that this is a negative development.
