The debate over whether students fully benefit and make the most out of their education at school remains a significant question. A school of thought holds the belief that subjects that children learn at school are not worth it while some assert the opposite. Both views are justifiable, I personally lean toward the former.
On the one hand, subjects at school seem mostly ineffective as it does not help to secure a decent job. Firstly, schoolchildren can not apply knowledge and understanding which they cultivate at school into corporations’ tasks as there is no job emulation at school. In other words, not only do young students waste time at school but also time to make a fortune later on after their graduation. Secondly, schoolchildren are not taught with woefully knowledge from fields but their indoctrination. As there is a host of new information and advancements to show up in such a modern era, it is inadvisable to receive indoctrination as it reduces the ability to adapt to aspiring changes as well as think outside of the box. As a result, children who study indoctrination tend to feel lost in the race searching for a sustainable career.
On the other hand, schools are still beneficial to children to certain extents, or justifiably so. First and foremost, students are taught the foundation of morality and ethnic understanding. By being exposed to the will of how to be a model citizen that is helpful to society, young students can raise a sense of sympathy, which might be effective in contributing to building healthy communities. Another point worth mentioning is that school also plays an integral role in supporting pupils to find a suitable career path. With the provision of various subjects and disciplines, children can have the chance to use knowledge at school to choose for themselves a future profession that they are passionate about.
In conclusion, while school is not without certain benefits, I believe that children should learn by themselves more and genuinely spend time to cultivate other practical skills to become a well-rounded person.
