The pie charts illustrate the utilization proportions of four different computer browsers in 2019 and 2021.
Overall, Chrome was the most preferred platform throughout the period, while Edge showed a significant increase, nearly doubling its share in a two-year period.
To begin with, three different browsers – Chrome, Firefox, and Other – decreased by roughly 2% each in the following two years. At the beginning of the period, the shares for Chrome, Firefox, and Other stood at 69%, 9%, and 8%, respectively. The figures for Chrome and Other exhibited a decline of 2% to almost two-thirds and 6% individually in 2021, compared to that for Firefox, which dropped minimally to 8%.
In contrast, the figure for Safari rose gradually, while the increase for Edge was steep. Initially, Safari started at 9% before increasing to exactly one-tenth by 2021. Despite ranking as the least used browser in 2019, Edge began at 5%, reaching 9% by the end of the period.
