There is an opinion that as a part of learning, learners should study abroad in order to learn foreign languages and cultures. I completely agreed with this point of view and in this essay, I will elaborate on my reasons.
On one hand, living in another country for some period of time brings a lot of benefits:like having a higher chance of getting good jobs or making foreign friends. But like the topic said, it has two main benefits. Firstly, it helps us learn that country’s language more easily. Having a good environment where we can practice their language is a great advantage. Surrounded by foreigner and native speakers, you can easily have a panther to practice speaking with and by that way, you will expand your vocabulary. You don’t have to be shy, it can just be a short conversation for direction or any topic, and most of them won’t laugh at you when you pronounce the word wrong. Secondly, studying abroad in another country can help you develop your personality and physical health. For example, unlike most in the surrounding countries, Singapore has very strict rules about protecting public hygiene and you will cost a lot of money there if you don’t pay attention to cleaning things. For example, you would lose 150$ for not flushing the toilet bowl in public, 1000$ for littering in public places or maybe going to jail for that. By learning the culture of Singapore, you will have effect you manner in a good way.
On the other hand, traveling to another country for a short period of time can also cause some harm for the student. Staying in a strange country, students might get culture shock and homesickness. Many students in VietNam has study abroad and instead of getting better, they got some emotional problem like stress or even depression.
But of course, these problems can be solved by time so I think it advantages win its drawbacks by a mile
