According to some employers who examine that fresh employees who recently graduated from tertiary institutions seems to lack interpersonal skills to relate with their colleagues. This essay will state reasons for this problem. This essay will also discuss solutions for this problem.

To begin with, the prime reason is lack of knowledge. In the past students are taught how to communicate with one another with the help of team work practicals, in which a group come together to work on a topic, this not only help them understand the topic but also build good communication skills. However, nowadays, students do more of personal assignments provided to them by lecturers who are more focus on teaching the course work, as a result of this this students lack knowledge about how to be a team players. In addition, social media,the influence of social media also plays a major role with the rise over the years, several youth spend a lot of time on social media talking to friends online, most times they don’t pay attention to what is going on around them.

More teamwork assignment will be a good way to solve this. Schools should implement and enforce team work assignment, this will teach the students how to have effective communicate with one another and also be a team player. Not only that,courses should also be taken on skills development at the final year in school in order to prepare students for the workforce. Finally,companies should provide skills development trainings.

To sum it up, This essay discuss the reasons for new employees lacking interpersonal skills, which are lack of knowledge and social media. This essay also state solutions to this problem, which are, providing skill development trainings and enforcing team work projets.
