Nowadays, it has been observed that people are choosing more than one career path. They are trying to earn money through several ways. In this regard, they also learn new skills and expertise. I believe this is a positive development as it not only provides an opportunity to grow financially but also increases their skill set.
Firstly, the internet technology has made easier for people to sell their skills and products. People can offer their services on many freelance websites such as Fiverr and Freelancer.com and can earn money sitting at home. They do not have to go somewhere. Simply they need a stable internet connection and a laptop and they can communicate with their clients living locally or in abroad.
Secondly, another factor that has made single career old-fashioned and obsolete is technology advancements. Many companies have opened online stores such as Amazon and Daraaz and deliver products to customers at doorsteps. They do not have to open big stores where people come and buy goods. Similarly, many renowned media-houses have stopped selling printer newspapers. Instead, they publish latest news on their website which people can read at their convenient time.
Lastly, a single career does not provide financial stability. In case a person loses job and has not sufficient funds he/she will not be able to fulfil family needs. Therefore, to prevent such situation from happening people are learning new skills so that they can pursue more careers to secure financially.
In conclusion, having a single career has become old as people want to earn more and strengthen them financially. To achieve this goal, they are educating themselves and learning skills and going into various fields.
