Mass production is manufacturing of products in huge quantities by machines. Traditional handicraft and artistry skills are experiencing a decline in many countries while mass-produced products are becoming more common. The advantages of mass production are greater than disadvantages because handmade items are getting replaced by machines. The factory production allows goods to be made in large quantities quickly and at a lower cost. It also created more jobs in factories. Mass production goods often replaced the handmade goods, so this led to a decline in cultural heritage.
Firstly, Factory production can make goods in huge quantities quickly and at a cheaper price. Machines are the new technology and they can make products in few minutes. It requires less effort, so the price is also lower. Moreover, this also created many jobs in factories. There are many people who handle those machines and pass the products through various machines. So, it increases the economic growth of country. If these benefits were absent, industries wouldn’t be able to produce goods quickly, results in slowing economic growth. Thus, the advantages of mass production are significant and robust.
On the other hand, some people believe that replication of handicrafts and artistry by mass production leads to loss of cultural heritage. In my opinion, this is not more important because we want our country to be modern and there should be fast technologies rather than slow-producing works. If we start depending on keeping our cultural heritage safe, this will lead our country slower than other developed countries. That’s why their positions are invalid. Hence, the disadvantages of this are minimal and trivial.
In conclusion, mass production has very strong benefits like huge production in less time, Lower cost and creation of more jobs. Handmade products and artisanal skills are replaced by factories. It also has less trivial disadvantage, which is loss of cultural heritage. I agree that the advantages outweigh disadvantages. Government should focus more on machines than on culture to build a modern future.
