The chart above illustrates the analysis of the major languages taken by people speak English as their first language studying at the UK Centre for Foreign Laguage Learning in 2020.
Overall, it is clear that women learned Mandarin outnumbers men. In contrast, the percentage of men studying Arabic was considerably higher than its counterpart of females.
Initially, as you can see that Spanish is the language learned the most by all females and males with 39% altogether, followed by Mandarin and Arabic with 31% and 32%, respectively. Meanwhile, Welsh and Italian were the two languages having the lowest ratio of learners. Despite the fact that German used by plenty of men, this was not the favorite language of women with just 7%. In addtion, the number of men learned Welsh was doubled than the figures for women.
While Spanish had the same proportion of female and male learners, men tended to learn Arabic as the second laguage more than women. Moreover, the quantity of males studying Japanese was slightly more than that of females. Besides, Italian was the language choosen by the fewest women when making a comparion with other eight languages. And last but not least, in spite of being ignored by men, Polish had 11% women studying.
