In the past decades, technology has faced a huge development. For that reason, a lot of working processes and procedures have changed, and have been substituted. This essay will discuss about the most important skills that workers have to develop in order to maintain their position inside a company.

Technology development is the reason why a lot of activities previously perfomed by workers, are now automatized. Nowadays, the work of an employers can be almost completely substitued by a machine, which is able to perfom better the required actions. For that reasons, workers have to develop stratgic skills that can not be computed by an automation.

There are different opinions about this topic. Some people believe that creativity and innovation willl be the most valuable skills, meanwhile other support the idea that technical expertise and data analysis will prevail. Personally, I think that an employer has to develop knowledges that a machine is not able to reproduce. For that reason, I belive that creativity and innovation will be fundamental in the future. Moreover, considering that automation is possible just because of the information provided by humans, we have to keep in mind that creativity is an intangible concept that cannot be taught.

In conclusion, due to the fact that data anlysis and technical expertise are knowledges that can be easily performed by a machine, workers should prioritise the development of more personally oriented skills, such as creativity and innovation. In this way, they do not run the risk to be substitued by technology.
