There is an ongoing debate about violent crimes. Some believe that showing crimes on news, newspapers and TVs, especially violent crimes may frighten people, while others believe it will encourage people to commit more crimes. From my point of view, it may stop people to commit crimes and local people to be careful.
On one hand, reporting crimes on TV shows, newspapers and news has advantages. Local people will be aware about recent news and tell their children, friends and closed ones to proceed cautiously and be informed. On consequences, it may help to avoid some crimes. Additionally, if policies and government will recover in the news about consequences of crimes and strict laws, especially of violent crimes, it would frighten crimers. Additionally, if individuals be unaware of last crimes, it could be harder to capture the crimer. People may tell if they had seen the criminal or victim, which can be useful for principles and detectives.
However, on the other hand, to broadcast crime on newspapers, social media may contrastly encourage crimers. They might think that it would be easy and affordable to do crimes, because others are also doing it. As a result, it may lead to more crimes. Furthermore, people with psychological disorders may believe that they are not doing nothing wrong, because it is showing in news, or even may be interested and want to try how it would be.
Consequently, I believe that even showing crimes on TV channels, newspapers or internet may prompt individuals to engage in criminal activity, advantages will outweigh disadvantages. If people will not aware of recent news, particularly violents, it would be harder to seize the criminals and reduce the crime rate.
