These days, there are a growning concern about the effects of criminal information. While people think that these contents should be banned from social network because of frghtening viewers and encouraging criminals, in my view point, to a certain extent I agree that news about violent crime have negatively affected on people. However, I also believe that these news content may bring positive effect on our awareness.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why media coverage of violent should be banned from newspapers and TV programmes. It is true that violent news may frighten people because of the bloody imagines and terrible information. Today, some horror films in cinema require audiences over the certain ages to watch; however, if the violent news is posted free on the Interet, people can easily access to access them and be shocked. Moreover, if children without correct sense of awareness read these news content, they will be affected seriously on their mental health and physical activities. In addittion, the viewpoint that appearance of violent crime on news and television also encourages the criminal is true nowadays. Thanks to the digital development, people can enjoy variety of contents through the Internet and it help the crime know more the ways to commit offence. There is the increase in the number of cyber crimes and, for example, the figure increases from 10% in 2010 to 18% in 2020 in Vietnam. The offender can chat together easily and meet in real life, which result in the increase in the number of accidents by groups of crimes in big city. For these reasons, why media coverage of violent should be banned from newspapers and TV programmes
On the other hand, violent crime information can be posted barely on newspapers and TV programmes. Firstly, they can raise people awareness about the crime and find solution to protect themselve and family. For example, they can install cameras or choose houses near the pollice office. Moreover, they can educate their chilldren not to offence the crime and develop true awareness. Secondly, news about crime can also sign the place of accident for people to avoid and help pollice to catch the wanted crimes earlier. For these reasons, I maintain that violent crime information can be posted barely on newspapers and TV programmes.
In conclusion, with all mention above, I am convinced that the appearance of violent crime on the social media brings both positive and negative effect on our life.
