The presented maps illustrate the development that took place in Hillingford between 2000 and 2015.
Overall, the town was transformed into a more urban one since the development of the infrastructure can be seen.
The most visible changes took place in the western part of the town: the woods were cut down to provide local people with housing, flats and such facilities as tennis courts, playground, restaurants, shops and cafes. Moreover, the road was extended along the western coast. East of the town, the area saw fewer changes. Part of housing and the school have remained at the same place, while the market turned into the supermarket and another part of housing gave way to the bed & breakfast hotel.
As for the northern part of the town, a new train station was built and a country house was converted into a hotel and housing was built near it. However, the southern part of the town has not changed at all. The beach, the harbour, and the sea have not experienced any changes.
