The tables shown displays information about the profit gained from Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas sold in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries. Overall, more profit was gained from banana sales compared to coffee. The five countries also gained more profit in 2004 than in 1999.
In 1999, Switzerland earned the most profit from selling coffee, with a total profit of 3 million euros. While UK earned the most profit from selling the same type of product in 2004 with a total of 20 million euros. In both 1999 and 2004, Switzerland earned the most profit from selling bananas compared to the other countries.
Switzerland gained 15 million euros in 1999 and 47 million euros in 2004 from banana sales.
In both 1999 and 2004, Sweden gained the least ammount of money from selling coffee. Sweden only gained 0.8 million euros in 1999 and 1 million euros in 2004 from selling coffee. Belgium gained the least ammount of money from banana sales in 1999 with only 0.6 million euros of profit, while in 2004, Denmark only made 0.9 million euros of profit from banana sales, making it the country with the least profit gained from banana sales that year.
