Overall, Belgian Blue is the most popular kind of beef, standing out four of five countries, except Italy. However, simmental and scotch generally have the least popularity.
Looking further, Belgian Blue is the most favorite in Italy, achieving 42%, followed by France (37%), Germany (31%) and Spain (26%). Meanwhile, in the UK, it is the second popular choice of beef (21%), behind Holstein that leads at 23%.
Moreover, both Holstein and Aberdeen Angus are slightly less preferred in five European countries. The percentage of both kind of beef, ranging from 16% to 24%. However, Simmental and Scotch are the least popular types of beef, ranging between 10% and 19% in the same five countries. Specifically, the highest figure of Simmental is 19% in the UK while Scotch the most popular is 18% in Spain.
