Nowadays, studying English at educational facilities is prioritized significantly stronger than learning local languages, which could conclude in extinction of those. I strongly agree with importance of English, however others undoubtedly must be supported by schools. In this essay I will clarify how the domestic languages may be secured.
To begin with, the significance and influence of the culture a child lives with should be mentioned. Language is not just a tool for communication, but a way of life. Vocabulary of different cultures can demonstrate importance of ones objects to a person more rather than ones that are alien. For instance, there are atleast five words for snow in Yakut, emphasizing difference of density and pace its fall, whereas others could not even have a single one. Moreover, a spectrum of emotions may vary from one vocabulary to other. Russian has various ways of describing being sorrow, whilee French provides abundance of positive emotions. All in all, multicultularism and multilingualism are known for enriching intelligence and personality, revealing one person from polar sides.
Besides, comprehension of a foreign language is crucial for a contemporary society. As long as English is the most popular language to study across the world, its compulsory existence in school programs must be adamant. Studying it gives enormous golden opportunities for students, such as interships in most valuable companies, international programs, state occasions, et cetera.
As a consequence, educational facilities prioritize foreign languages rather than local. As I mentioned before, being multilingual is beneficial for intelligence. Besides, comprehension of own culture is crucial for self-identification in society, being positive for generational bonds and national pride. This is the reason of why we must secure our mother tongue. However, many countries try maintaining it incorrectly, tending to create an artificial space for practicing it. For example, Belarussian is learned only for a compulsory exam and not used in any practical occasions. As a result, major citizens report extinction of their culture. In comparison, Irish government provides festivals and huge events in order to maintain their language. Such actions make real opportunities to practice it unintentionally with neighbours and interested tourists.
Taking everything into consideration, I strongly agree with ensuring the survival of local languages, as they keep the world diverse. One of the best methods to do so is the creation of real and living enviroments for practicing it willingly and naturally.
