The pie chart provides information about percentage of five kinds of books sold by booksellers in 1972, 1992 and 2012.

Overall, the largest proportion of adult fiction increased over the period and became the dominant category in 2012. While biography, travel and other genres declined over the same period.

It is noticeable that adult fiction accounted for 20% in 1972 and then rose dramatically to 45% in 2012. Similarly, children’s fiction also increased steadily, rising from 20% to 25% in 2012.
