The diagrams depict the transformation of biomedical campus of one university between its current layout and the proposed future development.
Overall, it is evident that the campus is set to undergo a significant redevelopment, characterized by the construction of new facilities and transport infrastructure. A prominent change entails the removal of green spaces to accommodate this expansion and the division of the existing car park into two separate, designated areas.
Focusing on the nothern sector of the campus, the large area of trees currently in the top-left corner is designated for clearance. In its place, two new buildings, Genetics 1 and Bio-imaging, will be constructed. To the right, the existing car park is planned to be repurposed, specifically as a Student Car Park. Furthermore, the central road that at present divides the campus horizontally will be eliminated.
In the southern portion, the Biochemistry building will be relocated slightly northest and roated 90 degrees. The adjacent trees in the bottom-left corner will be cleared to make way for a new Staff Car Park and an L-shaped road connecting to it. Additionally, a new road will be laid out along the southern edge of the campus to facilitate access. On the right, the Biotech facility is set to be enlarged, and the existing Genetics building will be renamed Genetics 2. It is also notable that the two original Lab buildings will remain unchanged throughout the development.
