In recent years, some people argue that crime rates have risen due to the advencement of modern technologies. From my point of view, I partly agree with this statement for several reasons.
One the one hand, cybercrimes have increased because of develop digital tools. Poor security of the personal information in the social media platform can be the main factor of growth crimes in the internet. For instance, if peson posts many information about his or her life with location and photos, robbers can find them due to location and kidnap them to demand money ransom. Moreover, robbers can demand money from elderly people because they are not well aware in digital devices as younger generations do. As a result, anonymous attack in the Internet has become easier due to poor qualty of self-protection.
On the other hand, developed technologies help businesses and families protect their facilities and these technologies even help reduce violence. For example, surveillance cameras and smart homes can help individuals avoid crimes and thefts due to their development. Moreover, digital tools such as computers and phones can help police speed up their investigations and scientists have opportunities explore deeper our environment and humant bodies. Consequently, online and physical devices can help workers protect their facilities and investments.
In conclutions, crime rates have increased because of advanced technology and people should protect their information more carefully, but these devices help individuals defend not only their homes and offices, but also investments. However, I believe that developed technologies provide a better security and extend working fields.
