Weather the giving children authority to make their own choices or not in some cases, such as allowing choose of favourite foods, garments and entertaining activites has become a subject of debate. Opponents argue that it is good idea to allow them giving their decisions independently, proponents dispute opposite. This essay will discuss both these views in support of the former.
Some people think that giving a chance to children to make decisions on everyday matters make them egoist and ungrateful later. To be more precise, they will want do everything they want in almost all cases, if give them variety options to choose their favourite foods, clothes or doing some entertaining activites. In contrast, these behaviours lead to them to be agressive and sassy individuals in future. As a result, in a long-term, they could experience some difficulties in their workplaces, by struggling communication, and self-explanation.
On the other hand, the opponents believe that giving responsibilities to the juveniles make their own decisions is pivotal in the confidential matters. Because, children already know what they want and shape the later actions. This advantage allows them to be confident in certain situations, for example when presenting their ideas in class, defending their viewpoints in discussions, or dealing with criticism from others because of their nurturing background. Moreover, being independent in certain choices can make children more dedicated and motivated individuals in the future, as this independence enables them to make proper decisions regarding their career development. As a result, they are able to choose a profession that suits their interests and preferences without experiencing excessive stress from parents.
In conclusion, although some people argue that allowing children to make independent choices may make them selfish, I firmly believe that giving children authority over their everyday activities helps them become more confident and dedicated individuals in the future.
