Overall, the change of Huntingdon in the future is not remarkable, but Huntingdon will be built more advancedly through the expansion of the road network, the town centre, and the construction of some essential areas.
Currently, there are two main highways running through Huntingdon. The A1 stretches from the north to the south, while the A14 is built from southeast to northwest, going through town centre. It is noticeable that A1 and A14 intersect at a roundabout in the northwest. Under the overpass is Brampton Road, which connects directly to the A1 highway and the ring road surrounding the town centre. To service customers’ demand, built-up areas, including homes, shops, and so on, are constructed beyond the ring road and at the rail hub. Crossing through the stop from northwest to south is a railway line – another means of transportation for people here.
According to reported projections, Huntingdon will be more advanced than it is at present. To be more specific, the full structure of the road network is anticipated to expand remarkably. The A14, as it is now, will be relocated to connect the A1 and another ring road, which is predicted to be added besides the old ring road. In addition, the initial A14 will be cut off and terminated at the new roundabout in the heart of the town instead of ending in the southeast at present. The downtown area will witness a small expansion, while the area of the railway station including the built-up station is projected to remain unchanged. Despite a small change in railway station, the railway line branches into two, converging at a point industrial estate will replace the initial Airfield.
