The two maps illustrate the current layout of a Biomedical Campus and the proposed changes for its future development. Overall, the campus is set to undergo significant expansion, characterized by the introduction of new academic facilities and specialized parking areas, resulting in a reduction of green spaces.
Key Changes in the Western and Central Sections
Currently, the northwestern part of the campus is dominated by a large wooded area and a road. In the future, this green space will be cleared to make way for a Genetics 1 building and a Bio-imaging facility. The existing Lab and Biochemistry building will remain, but the road network in the southwest will be reconfigured to include a dedicated Staff Car Park. The central Walkway will remain a permanent feature, connecting the two halves of the campus.
Key Changes in the Eastern Section
In the eastern portion of the campus, the existing general Car Park in the northeast will be converted into a specific Student Car Park. A new building, Genetics 2, is planned for the central-east area, situated between the central walkway and the existing eastern Lab. Furthermore, the current Biotech building will be expanded to the east to accommodate more facilities.
