Psychological illnesses are not visible as physical ilnesses, but they can still have a serious effect on people lives. I agree that society is usually more accepting of physical abilities, while mental ilnesses are sometimes seen as a taboo topic
One reason is that physical ilnesses are easier to understand. For example, if someone breaks a leg or uses a wheelchair, people can see clearly see the problem and often show sympahthy. However, mental ilnesses such as depression or anxiety cannot always be seen from the outside. A person may look healty on the outside while suffering emotionally inside. Because of this, some people think the person is overracting or being weak, which is unfair.
In addition, many people feel uncomfortable talking about mental health. In some cultures, psychological problems considered embarassing, so people may hide their feelings or avoid getting treatment. This can make the condition worse. For example, workers or students may be afraid that others will judge them if they admit they are struggling mentally.
On the other hand, awareness of mental health is improving today. Social media, schools, and public campaigns help people to understand that psychological illnesses are real medication conditions. More people now encourage others to speak openly and seek professional help.
In Conclusion, i believe psychological ilnesses are often treated differently from physical disabilities event though both can seriously affect person life. Society is becoming more accepting, but there is still a need for better understanding and less judgement toward people with mental health problems
