The first view is some people think students should be free to choose what to study which can help them focus more on areas connected to their interests and future careers. It allows them to focus on subjects that are actually useful for their future instead of studying some subjects only for marks. For example, students who are interested in technology can learn coding, DSA implementation, and practical skills that help them become job-ready. It also helps students focus on current trends and technologies instead of only following traditional methods of learning that may not be very useful today.
The second view is that the curriculum should be followed because students can learn something from every subject. Even if a subject is not directly useful for their career, it can still help them in some way later. Learning different subjects also gives students a basic idea about many fields. Subjects like English help students speak and communicate better, while other subjects improve thinking and understanding.
According to me, both views are useful. Students should be allowed to study subjects related to their interests and future jobs, but some basic subjects should also remain compulsory. This way students can improve their career skills while also gaining general knowledge and communication skills.
