It is argued that former buildings should be demolished and give room to new infrastructures. In my view, we should pay attention to the basic needs such as urban development and sanitation, but at the same time it is also important to preserve some historical structures which keep memorial monuments and past memories.
On the one hand, it is true that the demand for new urban features is on the rise with the rapid increase in population. The more the people, the more innovative the town, which is why the individuals are making more relocating and renovating around the world. A clear illustration of this is constructing skyscrapers which provide several facilities for residents. Despite of this reason, I am convinced that the basic needs of urban development should be provided for the sake of human.
On the other hand, the majority of old buildings should be well preserved for the better future because it also plays a crucial role in history. Otherwise, these old features are not replaceable.
For instance, the crystal palace which was a massive exhibition of England, is well-preserved today and still attract many tourists every year, bringing in huge revenue for the country.
In conclusion, the protection of old buildings plays an essential section in reflecting history and creating values in modern life. Although the governments should invest in modern accommodations to meet urban requirements, making campaigns and collecting funds should be supported for the ancient architecture.
