Some people believe that the advancement of virtual reality technology will eventually make physical travel unnecessary. Others argue that real-world experiences and human interaction can never be fully replaced by digital alternatives. While both perspectives have valid arguments, I believe that although virtual reality may complement travel, it cannot replicate the physical, emotional, and social benefits of experiencing the real world firsthand.
Virtual technology has grown very popular since its invention. People can learn of the world without even stepping outside of their home by using virtual reality technology and because of its features some individuals believe it will make physical travel useless and unnecessary. Some museums has offered virtual experiences through their website. This means that the number of tourists will decrease and some forms of tourism become less necessary.
However virtual reality cannot fully recreate the real human experience. Even with advancements in virtual reality technology, its features can still not replicate the sense of smell, touch, and the feeling of the atmosphere when travelling. Experiences such as the feeling of the lively atmosphere of china or smelling the aroma of vietnamese cuisine can only be felt if the person has travelled in the real world. Moreover, virtual reality cannot replicate human emotions and process human connections. That mean that if someone tries to process their emotions through virtual technology, they will only be met with a dissappointing experience.
In conclusion, eventhough virtual technology may reduce the need to travel, i believe that real-world experiences and human connections cannot be fully replaced by digital technology.
