Facing the rapid ageing of population, many societies in the world witness an unsustainable increase in the cost of public healthcare, so a nation’s residents should pay for their healthcare provision in the future. From my point of view, I partly agree with this statement, and this essay will discuss my thinking carefully and thoroughly.
On the one hand, paying for their healthcare cost is the responsibility of each family with their members, and helps them to be aware of their budget in the future, without relying on the country’s subsidies. It means that they can have more effort and plan for their expenditure to balance with healthcare cost. For instance, some families purchase monthly insurance fees to ensure their healthcare in the future. Additionally, when the residents can solve their finance with healthcare, they also help ease financial burden on the state budget. This is because reducing pressure on government can help develop other factors in the societies, such as education infrastructure, or public policies for future national development effectively.
On the other hand, the government also need have some policies to support some vulnerable households who don’t have enough cost ability. Specifically, the state play a crucial role to make sure that no one is left without care. For example, unlucky people having cancer can pass away because of lacking budget, so they need some subsidy from the state. Furthermore, the healthcare system should offer some support for patients to help develop living standard and improve their quality of life significantly.
In conclusion, although each family takes responsibility for their healthcare without depend on support of subsidy, the government should focus on some poor households to improve healthy societies. For that reason, I suppose partly agree with this statement and believe both sides should cooperate together. Overall, this approach is more beneficial.
