Dear Shuchi,
Take my heartfelt congratulations on your new job. I am over the moon for your news, and I am literally counting down the days to welcome you to my city. I hope you are doing well.
As you have mentioned earlier that your flight from Bangladesh to Regina is scheduled for 16th July, let me tell you, there is no direct flights. If you haven’t booked it yet, I would highly recommend you to select westjet for your connecting flight from Toronto to Regina as it provides world-class service.
Speaking of neighbourhood, Regina is devived into four major areas: North, South, East and Downtown. I strongly suggest selecting place to live according to your workplace direction. For instance, I live in South, and since my workplace is in Downtown, it takes only 10 minutes to commute there by bus as I don’t own a car. Consequently, it is really convenient for me. Having said about the transport system, in Regina, the transport system, operated by the City of Regina, they are really affordable and not time consuming where you can have a monthly bus pass just in 97 dollars if you don’t have car which I find really convenient.
Regina will a very new place to you; which is why, I suggect to connect with community. We have two big communities: Bangladeshi Muslim Community , operated by Darul falah, and Islamic Association of Saskatchewan. Both of these are deeply involved in community work like volunteer activityies, Eid melas, and organising eid prayers each year. Additionally, each year, Bangladesh Community makes arrangements for different cultural programs like Pohela Boishakh, Pohela Falgun and Ifter parties. I can ensure the more you attend these functions, the more you get along with new people. Nothing can be greater than this.
Overall, Regina is a calm, cozy place in a flat land. you are going to love this a lot. Welcome to Regina in advance.
Best Wishes,
Lamia.
