Given is a table elucidating the demographic data about national population and the share of both genders whose age is 15 and 75 years old in the UK over a 100-year period starting from 1911.
Overall, total population showed an upward trend over the period. Besides, the percentage of younger generations witnessed a sharp decline, while that of the elderly increased dramatically.
In terms of citizens with the age of 15, while males recorded a slight incease from 334,200 to 354,400 over the surveyed timeframe, the counterpart figures saw a reverse trend, which declined minimally to 335,700 from 333,700 originally. Therefore, both of the data translated a 0.63% decrease from 1.86% in the percent of 15-year-old people of towards the end of the survey.
Regarding the remaining cohort, commencing at 34,100 male people only in 1911, the figure substantially surged to 181,300 in the next 100 years. A similar trend was observed in females, as it is recorded that the figure significantly grew from 47,400 in 1911 to 210,100 in 2011. Both of the data led to the slight increase of 0.67% of the proportion of this age bracket.
As a result, the notable rise in the amount of both age cohort led to the increase in the total population. Starting from only 36.1 millions of citizens, the figure increased dramatically by 10 millions each 50-year period and eventually reached the number of 56.1 millions.
