Overall, it can be observed that the largest proportions of boys’ leisure are computer games and basketball. Although reading is the least preferable option for boys, it is the second popular one for girls. Meanwhile, dancing ranks first for girls.
In particular, boys spent most of their free time playing computer games, accounting for 34%, which is twice more, than girls, followed by basketball at 26%. Soccer also remained relatively popular, with 17%, whereas skateboarding and listening to music represented similar figures, being 11% and 10% respectively. In contrast, reading occupied only 2%, making it the least common activity among boys.
With regard to girls, dancing took the leading position, accounting for 27%, while reading ranked second with 21%, which makes it more than ten times as popular among girls as among boys. Computer games were chosen by only 16% of girls. Furthermore, listening to music remained equal for both groups at 10%. In addition, compared to males, females are more interested in netball and gymnastic, with figures being 15% and 11% respectively.
