The pie chart illustrates the percentages of graduates from Bluesky University who started working in ten different employment sectors in 2006.
Overall, it is easy to see that service industries attracted the largest share of university graduates by a wide margin. In sharp contrast, the fields of charity and sport were the least popular choices among these students.
Looking at the chart, service industries were by far the most popular employment sector, accounting for exactly 33% of the total graduates. The manufacturing industry was the second most popular choice, with 16.3% of individuals finding a job there. Following closely behind were the sectors of education and politics/government. These two sectors made up 14.7% and 12.1% of the total graph respectively.
Turning to the less popular career paths, arts/entertainment/media and science/technology showed very similar figures, standing at 7.8% and 7.3%. Civil service was selected by a slightly lower percentage of graduates at 5.6%, while the “Other” sector was responsible for 2.8%. By contrast, the lowest numbers could be seen in charity and sport. The percentage for sport was minimal at just 0.1%, which was almost as low as the figure for charity, the smallest category on the graph at 0.3%.
