It is widely believed that economical prosperity should be the main criteria of an individual’s success in life. Although money plays fundamental role in contemporary society, I strongly believe that the real success is measured in a scale of the impact on society.
On the one hand, financial prosperity offers higher standart of living and financial independence. This means that wealthy people have enough resources to properly build their own life, career and relationships. Moreover, wealthy people are able to reach their goals without any effort due to their financial stability. Therefore, the opportunities provided by money often help wealthy people to reach their status of successfull figures. For example, prominent and wealthy individuals in my country usually emphasize their financial success by making casual activities in extremely extravagant ways. As a result, money is widely regarded as an indicator of success because it provides financial stability and greater opportunities.
On the other hand, there are a plethora of approaches to become successfull, and it is often not about economical success. Any person can be successfull regardless of his wealth because real success is measured in individual’s social contribution. This means that many professions may be extremely valuable in society regardless of their status and wealth. For example, doctors often earn less money than bussiness executives despite making a significant contribution to society. As a result, experts in such professions are likely to gain social value and become useful member of society
In conclusion, although economical success offers financial independence and stability, I strongly believe that personal fulfilment and social contribution are should be regarded as the primary measure of a person’s success.
