Nowadays, most children find schools boring, this affects their ability to focus and creates a negative impact on their academic performance. This essay will discuss that the lack of practical demonstration in classroom and a high number of classes daily are two main causes of this issue. By arranging hands on sessions within the classroom and reducing the number of periods, this problem can be solved effectively.
Most teachers and schools only focus on theoretical part of a subject. There is not enough equipment or the trainers lack practical experience so they are unable to demonstrate practically. Due to this students learn only the theory and they never practice to use those concepts to solve a real problem. Young learners start to consider a subject irrelevant in real life. Gradually, they start to find schools a boring place and as a consequence they lose the interest in a subject. Overall, it create a negative affect on academic performance. Another important cause is extremely tight schedule in schools. The goal of school authorities is to complete more courses in short time so they increase the total number of lectures in one day. Usually, a student has to be present for around 7 to 8 hours in schools and study continuously. It makes children tired and this makes the energy of a student low. Pupils then start to think only about their off time and lose their focus during lectures. Due to no focus some important concepts are not learned properly and overall marks are reduced in exams. For example, we can notice easily that universities have proper labs and dedicated teachers for each subject. This helps the students to do experiments within class and then apply those concepts during internships. Usually, university time tables are much more flexible having less number of classes daily
One of the solutions for this problem is providing teachers proper equipment and trainings such that it will enable them to perform demonstrations and experiments during the class. Besides teaching concepts on the white board, trainers can involve the students by taking a specific problem and solving it practically in front of pupils. This will create force the students to apply the concept directly on a problems. This will increase curiosity of a student and he will ask more thoughtful questions , thus developing their interest. Another way of improving their academic performance is by making the schedule a little flexible by decreasing the number of lectures in daily time table. This can be done by teaching easy subjects once in a week and complex subjects twice a week. Ultimately, it will helps the students to feel less tired and their they will not lose their interest in studies which will improve their scores in exams.
In conclusion, I believe that lack of practical demonstration during class and having too much lectures in one day are the main causes for lack of students interest and the most suitable ways of solving this issue is by enabling teachers to do actual experiments in the class and reducing the number of classes
