It is argued that raising more public funds preserving heritage sites should be prioritized while others contend that authorities should invest more money in developing residential accommodation and transportation facilities. This essay will discuss both views, and I believe both of those are equally important and should receive enough government funding.
On the one hand, allocating financial resources to protect heritage buildings can contribute to economic growth. By preserving cultural heritage, this can make cities more attractive and appealing, encouraging tourists to visit and increasing the tourism revenue. For example, the Louvre museum in France, the best destination for foreign visitors, attracts millions of tourists every year who spend money on accommodation, food, transportation and other local services, generating significant revenue for the tourism industry. As a result, local businesses can earn more income and contribute to economic growth.
On the other hand, housing and infrastructure should be invested more because of several reasons. Firstly, building more homes and apartments help meet the increasing residents’ demands. Nowadays, more and more individuals from rural areas move to cities, increasing the population. Therefore, constructing more houses can help meet people’s housing needs and provide them with better living standards. Secondly, building more public facilities can improve the quality of people’s lives. Better transportation and public services can reduce commuting time and make daily activities more convenient. As a result, urban areas can become more efficient and comfortable places to live.
In conclusion, although preserving historical buildings can help protect cultural heritage and promote tourism, investing in housing and infrastructure is also essential to meet the needs of a growing population. In my opinion, both should be given equal priority because they provide valuable benefits to society.
