Nowadays, young people are often affected by the behavior and opinions of their friends. This is called peer group pressure. Although this can have some benefits, I believe the disadvantages are greater.
On the one hand, peer pressure can significantly affect people; life. To simplify, young people frequently find themselves influenced by those in their age group. In our developing countries, everyone tries to surpass one another. When a particular friend becomes saucerful in their group, it can motivate others to work harder. For example, if friends study regularly, a student may also become more serious about education. Furthermore, peer pressure can have some positive effects on young people. many young people can learn new skills from their group of friends. A skillful friend can encourage their friends to stay honest and learn new valuable skills. As a result, a friend may encourage them to play sports or join a useful activity.
However, despite these merits, I believe the demerits are superior because bad friends can encourage young people to develop unhealthy or irresponsible habits. For instance, they may start skipping classes and may become addicted to smoking because their friends do it. To illustrates, sometimes they may follow their friend’s habits and try to do at same. As a result, put their health risk and reduce their life safety. Moreover, peer pressure has more serious negative effects. Young people try to make decision, which may fit with their friends. Hence, this can negatively affect their education and future.
In conclusion, although peer pressure can motivate young people and help them learn new things, I believe its disadvantages outweigh its advantages because it can lead to bad habits and poor decisions.
