Band 6+: there are several social consequences to housing shortages in cities, and only the government can solve this problem.Do you agree or disagree

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In numerous countries, a lack of housing has become a serious issue. Some people argue that only governments can find a solution for this problem. From my perspective, I disagree to some extent because to provide house to entire population is a big challenge for the government alone, and so, private companies should help governments to solve this problem.

A house is essential for all people because it provides shelter and safety from all the threats. But there are many people who are homeless and sleep on the streets, they have to face various challenges everyday just to survive. Hence, governments must find a solution to help them, they can build several small apartments that have all the basic amenities for people. Although constructing apartments will aid greatly, it still might be unaffordable for few people. In such case, governments should grant housing loans with zero interests to the people. As a result, through these methods, governments can solve the problem to some extent.

However, over growing population, which is one of the main problems, is more difficult to deal with. Even though governments build houses and invest a handsome amount of money, still there might be a shortage of houses for several people. In such countries, various construction companies have taken steps to provide house to many people, companies construct a fully furnished house and provide it to the people at minimal rates. In addition, these companies have ties with various banks that allows them to grant loans to people easily. Hence, by these means, private companies contribute significantly for the cause.

To summarize, unavailability of housing has become a major problem for many countries and some people believe that only governments are capable to solve this problem. I disagree to an extent with the statement as, it is difficult for governments alone to provide house. Therefore, private firms should provide an assist to solve the problem.
